The School Around Us has been providing holistic education in Southern Maine since 1970. We are a fully democratic, parent-run organization.

Our Mission Statement: The School Around Us is committed to providing a holistic learning community which encourages the growth of mind, body and spirit, and which is actively involved in the local and global community.

It is our goal that when a child leaves the School Around Us they will have developed a set of ethics, social and environmental awareness, a strong academic foundation, and kindness of heart that will keep them in good stead as they continue to grow and explore the life they choose.
